"It's Christmas" Don't miss it......... Pastors Email for December 23, 2016

 

Dear Extended Oasis Family and Friends; "This is IT," It’s here! Christmas starts TONIGHT! Tonight at 6pm we begin our last weekend of Christmas at the Oasis. Don't miss it and don't miss bringing your friends and neighbors. There is so much to see, hear and do. If you haven't been this year, our youth are presenting a live Christmas show called Jingle Jam, in the auditorium and you will love it! There are 200 nativities selected from our Guinness World Record Nativity Display in the auditorium. Our youth are offering food and refreshments in the Cafe, and don't forget to try out our hot chocolate and hot apple cider as you melt your s'mores over the fire in the Snow Village. Oh, and did I say "snow"? The forecast says there'll be snow every night and after the snow storm try out the most popular activity on the property, the “KidsWorld Express”. These are just a few things to do tonight and through the Christmas weekend (Christmas night has only the drive-through light display).  The Christmas Eve Family Experience is different this year. It won't be the traditional one hour service but will be a time of family experience in the auditorium, which includes live music and other things that will all tie into our "Christmas at the Oasis" experience. The times are 7, 8, and 9pm.      "Christmas Day Services." This is the BIG service this year. Instead of the big Christmas Eve traditional Candlelight Service, we get to celebrate Christmas on Sunday this year. It’s not often that we can celebrate the Savior’s birth on a Sunday. We have TWO services Christmas morning, 10:30am and Noon. Don't miss the opportunity for you and your family to celebrate the birth of Christ this year on Sunday.     "Annual Christmas Offering." Never before has it been more important to have a very large Christmas offering. We need to raise $30,000 more for Christmas this year in order to cover all the Christmas at the Oasis costs. Next christmas display depends on our offering this year. Please consider joining so many of us who have already given or pledged at least $25 this year, over and above our regular tithes and offerings. For everyone that gives at least $25 to support our Christmas Display, you will receive a free Oasis 25th Anniversary Ornament. There aren’t a lot of ornaments left so get yours. By the way, many of us can give far more. If you can give $125, $200 or $3,000 you will be able to take up to 5 ornaments this weekend as long as supplies last.       May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Dear Extended Oasis Family,

Before moving on to a new year, 2016, in two days - I wanted to celebrate a few things God did in and through Oasis Church this past year. I am not sure there has been a year with so many highlights. I can only share a few of them and ask you to thank God for the wonderful and record breaking year He gave to Oasis Church. I am so glad you were along for this incredible ride we called 2015. I am even more excited about having you for our "25th Anniversary" year of 2016. 

 

January: We welcomed a new year and our first Church Council member who grew up in our Church, Christina Becena. It’s awesome to have our very own millennial serving on our leadership Council. 

   

We launched our new year with the sermon series, “Gear Up: See it , Say it , Seize it". This was certainly the theme of our entire year as a church.  

February:  During a prayer walk on our property, I was reminded what it means to “bloom where you are planted" and snapped this picture of the Oak trees that were planted 24 years ago on our property in our first year and to see how they have grown just like our church family. We are now firmly planted and rooted in South Florida and now around the world. 

 

Our ”Kingdom" series took a fun look at the Kingdom of God and our bright future.
  

March: "I LOVE THE Church:” Not my Church! His Church. This amazing series culminated with our weekend church wide "Discover Oasis" new member event with a record 250 New Members joining Oasis Church.

April: Easter weekend over 4,000 worshipped and a 100 were baptized during our sermon series, #DeathtoSelfie 

Even in the midst of the record numbers (250) joining Oasis church, 100 baptized and 4,000 in attendance I reminded us of this truth:

"Every face has a name, Every name has a story, and EveryONE needs Jesus"

May:  "Fight For Love" sermon series once again highlighted our commitment to marriage and family. A healthy marriage and family makes a healthy nation, culture and next generation.

We welcomed 15 summer interns in our first internship program that continued throughout the fall and into this new year.

June:  Summer began with our student ministry breaking all attendance records with 200 in attendance and "Camp Cray” taking over 100 students to camp for the first time. 

"90 Day Tithe Challenge" was offered and over 200 NEW Oasis'ers took God’s challenge to tithe for 90 days and test Him.  This made for an exciting 90 days of stories of what God did in the lives of so many new tithers and faithful believers.
  

July-August: When many churches take the summer off from ministry, Oasis decided to step up our “missions" ministry. Along with weekly mission projects we took our second Detroit Missions trip to our partner of "Love Cities, Love Pastors" — Victory Fellowship.  

September: Oasis Celebrated 24 years of ministry and began our year long celebration of our "25th Anniversary" coming September 18, 2016. 

"50+" Community Groups and small discipleship groups were launched. That is by far the most small groups of people doing life together we have ever had. They continue this new year in January. If you are not part of one, check out all the groups online and listen for the new ones launching in January.

 

We welcomed our first "Church Planter Apprentice" and Pastor, Tommy Parke and his wife Kristin to our staff.

October: Fall Launch with more events and things than we can put in this short recap but two highlights were:  35 baptized on Fall Launch Sunday and Legacy Ministries, Tiaras and Oasis partnered to begin a new Missions Partnership in Guatemala. 

 

November:  "25 Days of Missions" and our #LoveSFL missions emphasis was launched with a record setting 1,500 Samaritan Purse boxes taken by our Oasis families to be filled and distributed to third world countries. Over 2,500 boxes were collected as our church hosted the regional Operation Christmas Child drop off center.

December: "25 Days of Mission" was launched with over 35+ Mission opportunities to serve and love our community.

Trees of Hope celebrated a 4th year of giving free Christmas “Trees of Hope " to hurting families in our community. A record 240 trees were given away this year.

"Love Cities, Love Pastors" continues to give to our partnerships in Detroit and through your faithful giving the last year and a half we have paid off almost half the mortgage on the Oasis Beach House and Future Pastoral Retreat. That is amazing considering your giving is over and above your regular tithes and offerings. If you are new and not yet giving to Love Cities, Love Pastors, you can sign up here and begin being a part of this incredible missions partnership.

Oasis Church this has been an incredible year and these are just drops in the bucket of all that God has done in our church this year.

But as great as this past year has been, I am believing and praying for the greatest year in our 25 year history. There are still hundreds of thousands in our community who need to hear the Good News of the Gospel and that is our mission. We MUST not slow down or let up but press forward to the mission God has called us to...“to Be and to Make Disciples".

One Picture is worth a 1,000 words....... Pastor's Weekly Email

 

 

Dear Oasis Extended Family and Friends,

I am trying to find the words to describe the beginning of second week of our "25 Days of Missions" for Christmas at the Oasis. I’m struggling to find them.

Last week, it was over 1,000 Gift Boxes given to kids around the World through Operations Christmas Child.  By far the most we have ever given and on top of that our Family Ministry became a regional “Drop Off Station" where over 2,500 boxes were dropped off.

 

Last night, began our "Trees of Hope" with a great group of volunteers and staff giving out Christmas trees, stands and lights to families who are struggling this Christmas.  This part of our 25 Days of Missions continues through Saturday. You will see a great update of your serving the community this weekend through videos and pictures. By the end of this weekend, we will have blessed 200+ families with a Tree of Hope and a drop of love - the most we have ever sponsored and given away. 

IF ONE PICTURE IS WORTH A 1,000 WORDS THEN 6 PICTURES ARE PRICELESS" Many of you sponsored a tree or are still giving toward the sponsorship. However, a price can’t be placed on what these "Trees of Hope" mean to a struggling family. It is priceless or I should say “eternal". I helped my son load 11 trees this afternoon for him to deliver to needy families in his inner city school. This is his second year of doing this and He loves it. He says it’s so sad to see how some people have to live - some of his students are living in motel rooms with 7 family members. They are overwhelmed by the trees and love that comes with them and that is just one little example. (Last night Thursday was our second night of Trees of Hope and inspite of a MONSOON RAIN Storm that continues through Friday our Volunteers and staff did an amazing job of loving and serving the many who came to receive their Tree of Hope. We have the most amazing Church Family. I am blown away. )

Here are 6 Pictures of our Volunteers last night during our pick up. PRICELESS. Note the one tree that is all decorated - that was posted within a few hours on Instagram by a family who received it and the kids loved it.

Celebrate HOPE - Our first message of our Christmas Series begins this weekend. I can't wait to bring this message as it is one I actually wrote almost 10 years ago and have never delivered. This year, God said this is the time. It’s perfect for our Christmas of Missions: #LoveSFL  — I am sure one of the verses we will look at this weekend you have never noticed but it is so powerful and fits this month perfectly. I hope you will join us on Saturday night at our Pembroke Pines Campus or on Sunday at Pembroke Pines or North Miami. Trees of Hope Exceeded our Goal....... Pastor's email for November

Last week, I mentioned we would not have room for stories. This week, it seems like we can't do this email without some. 

So be prepared to be blessed by what God is doing in and around Oasis Church. 

BIG WIN:  Congratulations Oasis Family, you exceeded our goal of 200 Trees of Hope. Not only were all 200 Trees of Hope Sponsor Cards taken last week and turned in, but we actually have 240 Sponsors. This means we will be able to bless even more families this Christmas with a LIVE North Carolina Fraser Fir with lights and even a stand to place it in. Having lived in a family that could not afford this type of tree for many years, I know what a blessing this will be. You are being a "Drop” of fresh love as you represent Christ to hurting families this Christmas. 

 

 

You can give your sponsorship gift online or through your envelopes from now through Christmas Eve. Just make sure it’s marked ‘Trees of Hope’.

 

With the extra sponsorships, we were able to order more trees and therefore have more we can give away. Please send us a name and contact information of any single parent family, family out of work or just hurting financially and we will contact them about receiving a tree.

 

MISSION: #LOVESFL begins this weekend with all the information of the various ways you can share the love of Christ this Christmas during the month of December. Come with an open heart and hands for serving this weekend as we will all have an opportunities to sign up for a variety of mission projects. Don't miss it! What a great revolution of LOVE we will be a part of this Christmas. 

 

Operation Christmas Child:  Drop off your shoe-boxes between now through next Monday, November 23rd. Congratulations again, Oasis Church. You exceeded our expectations and goal of 1,000 shoe-boxes to children all around the world. You took 1,500 boxes and now it’s time to bring them all back. I am totally blessed by your outpouring of love to others already this Christmas and we haven’t even begun yet. God bless you!

Those are but a few stories from last week and there are many more. Please Oasis never take for granted the beautiful work God is doing in our Church Family. This is special!

"Guinness World Record" and more this Weekend..... Pastor's Email....

Dear Extended Oasis Family;

Oasis Church might be the only church in the USA – if not the World – who now holds two "World Records." As you know, 4 years ago, we shattered the then World record of the most Nativities displayed, which was in Italy with 985. As a church, you loaned and displayed 2,150 Nativities for the thousands that come each year to visit our display at Christmas at the Oasis. That plaque now hangs in our Pembroke Pines Campus Lobby.

Last year, we captured the 2nd "Guinness World Record" with the most Lit, Live Christmas Trees displayed in one location, 546! This weekend we will be publicly unveiling the "World Record" Plaque that Guinness sent us. I can’t wait to show you, and in the days ahead, to see it displayed. (NOMI we will share the Plaque with you in a few weeks.)

While holding a World Record and being part of one is pretty exciting and fun, nothing even comes close to what the thousands of people mean that come through our Pines display every year to hear and see the Story of Christmas and to experience God’s love on our little corner of the World. You as a church make me proud to serve you as pastor.

 

THIS WEEKEND EACH OF US WILL ONCE AGAIN HAVE A CHANCE AT SPONSORING ONE OF THE 500 TREES OF HOPE THAT REPRESENT HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES WE WILL GIVE A LIVE, LIT TREE TO THIS CHRISTMAS.  This has quickly become, in only our 3rd year, one of our most powerful outreaches in our 23 years as a church.

I hope you will plan to sponsor at least one Tree of Hope. Tonia and I will be sponsoring 10 and I’m asking some of you, who are able, to share 10 Trees of Hope this year with a hurting family. You can pledge this weekend but do not need to give the $50 a tree until Christmas week. You can do it at church in your giving envelope with your tithes and offerings or you can do it online on the giving page by selecting the dropdown that says, "Trees of Hope."

The trees arrive Monday and we are writing a huge check to cover this. I need your support in filling out a pledge card so I know this will be covered and does not negatively impact our regular ministry funds. You covered the entire 500 trees with $25,000 last year and I know we can do it again this year. If you want to go on and give and pledge right away, you can even do it now online here.

If you are sponsoring a Tree of Hope and want to give us a name, or names, of families who are hurting financially, out of work or down and out this holiday season, please write their names and contact info on your Connect Card this weekend.

 

"Be Like Jesus," continues this weekend. Our message series is one of the most challenging we have ever brought to Oasis just in time for us to live it out during the Christmas Season. I hope you will be here. I am looking forward to bringing this third message this weekend.

This past week has been such a blessing. I want to thank the 200 of you who came out to what might have been our largest Christmas Workday ever. It was amazing last Saturday. Thanks so much for being such an amazing church family not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get dirty and sweaty. Last night more than 200 of our volunteers came together for a special Volunteer Appreciation night. It was so awesome Worshiping with you, eating together and just being able to celebrate you and the ministry you provide to the Oasis Family. I love all of you who give of yourselves every weekend and week to make Oasis such a special place.

Dear Extended Oasis Family;

"It’s almost over" - Yes, we are about to come to the end of one of the quietest Hurricane Seasons on record! Florida sticks out into the Atlantic and Caribbean Ocean just asking to be hit but we have dodged another bullet this year. I thank God we are almost out of that season. 

We are entering the most exciting season for me though! It’s Christmas! Yes, Christmas at the Oasis is now in full set up mode. You will see our Pines Campus with new things this weekend and then next weekend it really takes off. 

Speaking of next weekend: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SET ASIDE A FEW HOURS ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15^TH, TO COME TO OUR PINES CAMPUS AND HELP US PUT UP LIGHTS AND WORK ON VARIOUS CHRISTMAS PROJECTS. If all of us do a little, it makes it so much easier. More than that, when you invest your time and sweat equity in Christmas at the Oasis, you know you are investing in the Kingdom of God and will be touching up to 50,000 people in our community during the month of December. You know when you see the crowds experiencing Christmas that you had something to do with it. 

I hope you will be here and join our staff and myself for our ONE Big Saturday Christmas Workday. For those who have worked behind the scenes for months in order to make this day possible, thanks so much. Thanks to Pastor Pat Roberts who has assumed the leadership this year of our biggest outreach of the entire year. He is doing a great job building on the fantastic past our Pastor Brown has left. (No Pastor Brown has not left. He has moved over into our Haiti missions and other new projects this year. There is so much there to talk about, but we will probably wait until the new year to share it.) 

 

"BE LIKE JESUS" begins this weekend. Please do not miss one of these messages. This is the perfect sermon series to bring as we gear up for our Christmas at the Oasis and share God’s love with thousands. 

North Miami Campus ready or not, here I come! I am excited about being with you this weekend to open our new Sermon Series. And I am really excited to share some BIG news with you. Can't wait. (BTW, Pines Campus, I have taped a very exciting announcement for you this weekend too. You have got to be here to hear and see it.) 

 

Men’s Discipleship Tailgate Party is this Sunday night on our Pines campus, 7pm. Tickets on sale at both Campuses this weekend.

"RED COUCH": This coming Wednesday, Tonia and I will be on the Red Couch. If you are not in a Community Group, I invite you to come to our Family and Marriage Series this Wednesday night and hear what Tonia and I have to share from our 39 years of marriage, parenting and the best of all, our Grandkids. It’s going to be fun. I will say this: Tonia does not like to speak publicly but when she does, I tremble! You never know what she might say. Pray for me! Yikes! I am praying she does not tell some of the dark hidden stories she knows about me. There are plenty after 39 years. ;)

Tidal Wave Tonight, "Drop" tomorrow night!.... Pastor's Email for July 11, 2014

 

 

Dear Extended Oasis Family,

This weekend kicks off on Friday night at our Pines Campus with the biggest night of the year in Kids World: Tidal Wave... We have several hundred pre-registered and expect many walk-ins Friday night. Parents do not let your kids miss this. It could be life-changing for them and it will be a fun-filled, action-packed night.  If your child says they don’t want to come, then they are the ones that need to be here even more. You don’t ask them if they want to go to school or if they want to go to bed. Why would you ask them if they want to come to a "Spiritually Life-Changing" Event. The reason I say this is I hear this about everything with Kids and Teens, as if the child is making the decisions. Don't entrust their eternal values to their youth today. Guide them. See you there. Here’s the 411 on both nights and campuses.

 

 

“drop" - this is as big for our young adults as Tidal Wave is for our Kids or Camp is for our teens. Oasis Church has been blessed by having 100s of 20 and 30 somethings in our ministry. They serve, they attend, they are the heart of Oasis. They deserve their own time to get together. While our campus space is very limited at Pines, we feel we have to make space. Soooooooo beginning this Saturday night we begin "drop.”  If you are a 20 or 30 something, I hope you will come and check it out. Just try it out. I have heard some say “maybe I’m too young, too old, in my 30s, I have a child, they will all be single.” Well you won't know till you try it. The single common denominator is your ages and your desire to be the Disciple that God wants you to be. Maybe you have a friend that isn’t even a Christian, bring them, invite them, let them hang out. See what it’s like. Kick the wheels.

 

Here’s the scoop on our first night of “drop" this Saturday night:

We’re launching a night just for the 20 & 30 Somethings. It’s not a service, just a time to be together, meet new people, and grow. There’ll be food, live instrumental music, coffee and people! Come out this Saturday, 7:30pm, to the Cafe at our Pembroke Pines campus and bring some friends along. Follow @dropnight on Instagram to stay updated.

 

One last thing for the week! Our Haiti Mission trip is full with more than 25 people signed up, but our Detroit Mission trip is now open and ready to sign you up. Over 50 of you mentioned you wanted to go to Detroit with us when Pastor Daryl Gaddy our Detroit Partner was here last month. This is your chance. Join Tonia and I,  Pastor Ricky and others going Labor Day weekend. It’s going to be a great trip. I am so full of excitement and gratitude today as I type this and as we begin another year I can hardly hold it in. I am ready to as they used to say, to "Blow a Gasket" but in a good way. God has literally "Poured out" His blessings on Oasis Church in the last month like never before and is opening doors for 2014-15 and beyond that just keep growing by the day literally.

 

If you missed last weekend when Ben and I shared the 2014-15 edition of our Oasis 20/20 Vision you have to go online now or tonight and watch it! It is a must or you might just be blown away one weekend when you come and find out___________? Yeah! You better get ready. God is about to blow our doors open and blow our minds with what He is doing in our church and among us. This weekend we begin our New Year Series "Raze". This is going to move us all off of where we ended 2013 and into an incredible 2014! We are all hoping to grow, prosper or achieve something greater in this NEW year. In this NEW year let us step into our tomorrow by allowing God to renew our Minds, Bodies and Souls. Do not miss this series. It sets the stage for all of us to have a Great 2014 and beyond. Our best year yet!

 

I don't need to tell you if you were here in December that our "Christmas at the Oasis" was by far the best yet! I am convinced of it. We are already seeing incredible fruit. I was not going to share this but last night I posted this picture on our Oasis Facebook page and put this "comment" on it!

 

"These worn paths may just look like Dead Grass to you but when I see them each day they represent the 1,000's of Kids and parents who walked these paths among hundreds of Live Lit Christmas Trees and will have memories for a lifetime because Oasis Church was a " Face of Hope" this past Christmas! These are two comments that came in today about it! These pretty much sum up what God is doing and continues to do through you and all of those who volunteered tirelessly and gave financially to see thousands of people touched with Gods love. 

 

"It was your Christmas display in 2012 that grabbed my daughter's attention. By doing so, we started our walk with Christ the very next week. Not only a wonderful Christmas exhibit, but a life altering experience!!! With all I am, and all I have become, Thank you."

 

"Thanks to your Christmas lights, I was drawn to Oasis in 2006. As I drove by I stopped by during the daytime and there you were on a ladder putting up lights. I just thought that you were so down to earth as a Pastor and you weren't on the ground commanding. Lol! Your passion for God's work too. I began to help with untangling the lights right up in front of the church entrance door sitting on the concrete. I never left. I am so happy to be a part of Oasis and what God is doing there. May God bless you and the rest of the Pastoral body with long life and health and new visions as you continue his work without growing weary. Love y'all and I love the Oasis body."

P.S. Now for the exciting news! Thanks to you and your sacrificial and generous giving over Christmas and the last week of the year we had record offerings! We were able to cover Christmas by the skin of our teeth and brought our ministry Budget offerings up to where they should be for the end of the year. Only through you who gave an offering could that have ever happened. Thank you so much for being so faithful. Dear Extended Oasis Family,

 

 

It's here! Whew! Seems like just yesterday our leadership team was meeting in January to begin plans for Christmas 2013! But it is here! We light up and open at 7 p.m. tonight on our Pines Campus and for the first time in history we take the lights and "Guinness World Record" Nativity Display to North Miami which opens Friday night at 7 p.m.

 

This year more than any other in our 19 years we have more firsts! We always change up things and move things around but this year we have made greater strides than ever before. Much of it is because God has given us the most incredibly talented, hardworking and creative team we have ever had. Our team has allowed us to take Christmas to a new level. Now to the first's of this year you can expect!

 

* "Guinness World Record" attempt for the most Lit, Fresh Cut, Live Christmas Trees displayed in one location. Record attempt is 502. We are shooting for 510! Saturday night is the big count and judges and media will be with us to document the World Record!

 

* "Trees of Hope" display with hundreds of Live trees out of our World Record display will be given out to needy families from our community next week. We will more than double the trees given away this year from last year. Thanks to all of you who sponsored trees for this display and the outreach to the needy. If you still need to give toward the "Trees of Hope" you sponsored you can do so right now, right here!

 

* "Christmas KidsWorld Express" debuts along with a whole Kids World area with a walk of live trees , displays and crafts for the kids to enjoy. This year because of the popularity of the train last year we are able to provide 2 trains. Double the fun! And the small fee of $2 pays for the trains! This new section is going to be a lot of fun for our families. It includes a tour of "KidsWorld" classrooms for those who are new and want to learn more about our children's ministry here at Oasis.

 

* "Snow Village" with an enlarged Ice Skate Rink, Snow forest with snow falling each night along with live fires, s'mores, hot chocolate and more! This is a big step forward in this new upgraded area. (Surprise visit from the Zamboni Ice Skating Machine new this year!)

 

 

*  "Animated Wall" x's 2! The most popular addition to last years Christmas display is more than doubling the walls and lights this year along with synchronized music and incorporated into our popular "Live Nativity" with animals! (Yes the popular outdoor Christmas Movies are going to playing this year again.)

 

* "New Entry" Castle welcomes our guest this year along with the Best and friendliest Greeters anywhere in South Florida! They will make the "Walmart Greeter" look like the Grinch!

 

* "Oasis Faces of Hope" debuts this year in our Auditorium! The many ways our Oasis Family reaches out and touches a hurting world will be displayed throughout the auditorium with music, displays and interactive ingredients! This is a great way to introduce our guests to how Oasis Church touches lives 365 days a year! This will be a touching and beautiful display. Make sure you bring your guest inside this year. Don't forget to have your family picture taken in our lobby in front of the 12' Live Tree! Our largest ever to grace our Lobby and the most beautiful! No doubt 1,000's of pictures will be taken at this most popular Photo Stop on the property!

 

And last but not least…Drum Roll!!! (actually there are more firsts I didn't even mention but I'll wait 'till next week to share more)

 

* North Miami Campus lights up for the first time ever! We are now "Oasis Christmas" at two locations! This is exciting! Not only will we have the Live Nativity, but also parts of our "World Record" display of nativities inside the auditorium. Lights, displays and more at our "First Annual" Christmas at NoMi display. Make sure you visit during the season!

 

 

I can't wait to see you this weekend! We launch our new series: "Hope". I am bringing what I think will be one of my best messages ever on hope and being the hope in someone's life this Christmas. I hope you will be with us for one of our services. Ben Windle is speaking at our North Miami Campus. (I will use a portion of scripture I bet most of you don't even know how to find. It will be fun.)

"Torn between 2 Loves" Weekly Pastors Email November 22, 2013

 

 

Dear Extended Oasis Family and friends,

 

Conflicted! Torn between two seasons. Thanksgiving and Christmas! It’s the week before Thanksgiving which seems hard to believe and even harder to focus on when Christmas is everywhere. I’m always conflicted at this time of year. I want to resist the temptation to just move beyond Thanksgiving and get to Christmas. It's not for the same reason the stores put up their decorations and lights before Halloween but it's because at Oasis Church if we do not start EARLY there is no way to be ready when December gets here. So pardon us at Oasis if it appears we aren’t full of Thanksgiving and pause with me this coming week to thank God for all He has done for us. As a Nation, church, families and individuals we are so blessed. I never grow weary of Psalms 100, what I call the Thanksgiving Psalm. I plan to read it everyday until Thanksgiving to remind me to be Thankful and remember where my many blessings come from.

 

 

“Christmas at the Oasis!” Yes, I feel guilty moving straight from my last paragraph but it's here. This weekend we begin to share and challenge our church family to make the most of this Christmas and to lift up the ONE and ONLY ONE that we should have the Light focused on. HIM! Jesus.

 

There is another Christmas work day this Saturday and next. These are the last days to be a part of setting up this incredible outreach to our community. There is nothing like knowing when thousands come through our property and you see the smiles of the kids and families that YOU were a part of this and making it happen. I hope you will try to be out for one or both of the next 2 Saturday workdays. They take place from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

 

There will be a Christmas invite mailer going out the day before Thanksgiving to 100,000 homes in Southwest Broward and North Dade. Please pray for those receiving it that God will prompt them to attend one of the many events this Christmas at Oasis. Pray that God will heal many hearts and bring hope to hundreds this season at Oasis Church. (Our new Christmas website is up and has all the 411 on Christmas, times and events. Share it with your friends.)

 

Just a reminder to all those who have sponsored “Trees of Hope’ that all our donations are asked to be in by Thanksgiving weekend. You can mark your offering envelopes "Trees of Hope" on the other line, or go online NOW and give when you give your tithes and offerings. There is no other time your offerings to the Lord are needed than in this season when Oasis spends more monies on our community than any other time of the year. Christmas at the Oasis is only possible each year because of your gifts.
