Baptistry Update #4 - July 4th, 2008

Here are the latest pics from our new Fountain and Baptistry for our Pines Campus. The Gunite was finished yesterday, and in the next several weeks there will be other additions but most won't be as noticeable as this past week. We will keep you up. If  you haven't seen and read the first 3 updates let me encourage you to do this. It's more than just a Baptistry. Lots of history behind this beautiful pic of an unfinished Fountain and Baptistry.

Baptistry Update #3 - Awesome Pics

Long Awaited and Worth the Wait!!!!

It's been a long time coming. On the drawing board since we moved into our Worship Building in June of 2000, it has finally arrived. Our first permanent Baptistry at our Pines campus in our 16 year history began to be dug this morning. This is not just a Baptistry but will be a beautiful fountain, and courtyard throughout the week. It's practical, yet beautiful. Those on our Pines campus will see a BIG hole right under the steeple tower when you come to Worship this coming weekend, and weeknight.

I've never seen such beautiful dirt. For years there have been delays and set-backs. The last one was our hurricane Wilma almost 3 years ago. Just finishing our 1/2 Million Dollars in repairs a few months ago, we are now able to focus on this awesome project.

The money has been in the bank for several years now, thanks to the hundreds of families who gave to our 2nd Chapter Offerings in 2005-2006. Along with the Ffnishing of our KidsWorld classes, preparing for our 7NOW, the Fountain and Baptistry are the result of your generous giving. We thank each of you for making it happen. Our goal is to have the Fountain, Baptistry, and courtyard finished in order to begin Baptizing by the end of the Summer. Am I excited or What???? You bet I am!!!!!      

Free Lion, NoMI Makeover, Baptism, etc.

• We are giving away the original drawing of The Lion!!!  In each of the services Gary Means is drawing the Chase the Lion, we will be giving the person who brought the most first-time guests the drawing -- Free! Check out our church website for the times and services he will be drawing this coming week.
• Jeremy Higdon, our Campus Pastor for our newest Campus in North Miami, will be doing updates as we move closer to our Makeover of the property and the Opening Day, Easter Sunday, 11:00 A.M.  Just go to www.jeremyhigdon.com
• Baptism will once again be taking place beginning next weekend and throughout the entire week at our 7 Nights of Worship. If you have accepted Christ as your savior and Lord, but have never made the next step in your spiritual journey I would strongly urge you to do it now. In the Bible those who decided to follow Christ were baptized immediately. If you desire more info. go to www.visitoasis.org for the info. times and registration instructions. • Discover Oasis is this Sunday at 1:00 P.M. It will be  held in the Community Cafe with a catered dinner. For those wanting to know more about our church and how to become a member, this class is a must. You will need to go on our Church Website in order to register for this weekend.

I Love U Tube!!!!

  I guess I shouldn't say I love U Tube!! I'm not sure everything on U Tube I would recommend. But I do like the idea anyone can put up a video today and let the world watch it. I envy all you guys who have children and live away from your family. Its great to be able to share just about anything.

Heres another video of our Beach Baptism several weeks ago. This is a short version done by our Surge youth ministry. Just returned home from our 2nd Chance beach baptism .  Again I was blown away by God and how He just continues to transform lives right among us. We are so blessed. Not only did we baptize another 24 persons at the Beach tonight. But we probably had 100 family and friends there to support the Baptism.

The excitement of everyone in attendance was incredible. And 5 more teens were baptized. That is 30 teenagers baptized in the last couple of months. God is really working in our teen ministry.  I am so proud of Kevin Remer, Jon Higdon, and all the volunteers who lead our surge teens. A great group of teens showed up to support their peers.

Thanks to all our host pastors, lay pastors , Jim Brown and Jeremy Higdon for coming to be a part and to help baptize. What a great team we have. I only expected James Brown to be there with me, these other guys just showed up to be a part of helping do anything they could.  Thanks Guys, your awesome. You blessed me tonight.

Beach Baptism Make Up this Sunday Update

I received an update today that there are at least 20 folks who are now signed up to be Baptized this Sunday afternoon at 6:00 P.M. That is awesome!!!

Two weeks ago when we baptized 110 at the beach we had a number of folks who could not make it. So for the first time ever I felt we should give another chance. Well 20+ people have taken the next step of being Disciples. PTL!!

You can still sign up if you want to follow our Lord in Baptism this Sunday. I look forward to Baptizing you !

We are even running our shuttle bus to the beach. If you don't have transportation, you be at the church by 5:15 P.M. Sharp!! The bus will take you to our Beach Baptism. The video is so moving you have to watch it. Its only about 3 1/2 minutes. But very moving.

Second Chance Baptism, at the Beach

, you heard it right. There are so many who wanted to be baptized and some could not make it Sunday night, so we are going to do something I have never done and may never do again. We are giving a Second Chance to be Baptized at the Beach. When??

September 9, Sunday  (thats next weekend, mark your  connection card you want to be baptized next Sunday and we will plan on you )

WHEN: 6:00 P.M.

   HOLLYWOOD BEACH AND JOHNSON STREET, SAME AS LAST WEEKEND.

WHO: ANYONE WHO HAS ACCEPTED CHRIST AS THEIR SAVIOR AND WANTS TO BE OBEDIENT !!!!

WHAT TO WEAR:  SWIMSUIT, SHORTS ,  DARK T-SHIRT 

WHO IS INVITED: ANY FRIENDS OR FAMILY YOU WANT TO BE THERE. BRING THE CAMERA.

JUST SIGN UP AND SHOW UP

TRANSPORTATION:  YES, WE WILL TAKE THE SHUTTLE FROM THE PINES CAMPUS FOR THOSE NOT WANTING TO DRIVE. LIMITED SEATING, SO FIRST ONES TO WRITE SHUTTLE ON THEIR CONNECTION CARD GETS THE SEATS. ONCE IT IS FULL, CARS CAN FOLLOW THE SHUTTLE TO BEACH IF YOU AREN'T SURE HOW TO GET THERE.
