This past Saturday some of our Community groups sponsored a picnic at CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines. By all accounts Ive heard it was a great time. Garfield Lowe the leader of my group has had this vision for several years. He and a group of leaders began the planning months ago and Saturday it all came together. Garfield told me "It was great to see everyone interacting and "owning" the picnic... treating it as theirs and not as a function staged for them. "
All our group have regular Outreach ministries and picnics and get together on their own but this was the first time I can remember when some of them joined together for just a time of Community and fellowship among the different groups. From men, to womens, singles, couples , mixed and on and on. From the 3 campuses which I think was neat to have them all together.
Wish I could have been there, but speaking four times this weekend, meant I had to save my voice since I have the vocal chord problems. I never speak four times but this weekend was necessary. Hope I can be at the next one.

Seeing the pavillion makes me a little sad, it was the last time I saw the staff when we had Low Country Boil.
