It's funny on Sundays after a time change, Fall Back to see people who have never in their life been on time for Church actually come in Early. You know its only because they forgot to Fall Back and Hour. I always enjoy watching. Of course in the Spring, when we go forward , many miss the whole service.

See you guys on Sunday , Don't forget to fall back and if you forget don't worry we will have the coffee on. And if you attend a 7NOW Service you don't have to worry about the time change just come !!!! 7 pm. BTW, Im speaking this Sunday Night at the 7 pm service. I would love to see some of our Pines attendees. I am also looking forward to speaking at our Hollywood and North Miami Campus this Sunday Morning. Would love to see some of our Pines campus members attend one of those campuses.  

Christmas in November for the Kids of the World / KidsWorld Update

Below is the email Suzie McCord, our KidsWorld Director sent out to our parents today at Oasis. I hope there will not only be many families participate, but many of you who would like to make a difference in a kid's life around the world. Because of the cut and paste I have to use for this Post, there is a word or two cut off the lines, but it is well worth catching the awesome message below.          KidsWorld Email Update partnering with parents to grow godly kids
Dear ____________ I hope your family is doing well this week.  I’m sure you are enjoying this wonderful weather that we’re having!!  It’s just awesome.  I’m writing today to remind you of our Operation Christmas Child project at church.  We have just two weekends of collection left after this Sunday!  All boxes must be in by Sunday, November 16th to go to the Operation Christmas Child processing center.  This is such an exciting project.  Each week I’m hearing stories about how much fun people had shopping for their box contents.   I was able to take my seven year old son, Mason, shopping last Sunday.  I was very proud of him that he chose to use some of his birthday money to buy gifts for a child less fortunate.  His heart was in the right place when he said, “Mommy, every kid should have a Christmas present”.  Even more exciting is that each child will also receive a gospel storybook with their box and will be invited to attend follow up bible classes in their own language.  That is definitely the gift that keeps on giving!!    If you misplaced your shopping list, don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher for another copy.  They can also provide you with an empty shoebox and wrapping paper.  Or, you can click the link below to get the shopping list and even watch a video clip on “How to Pack a Shoebox”    http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/Pack_A_Shoe_Box/     When shopping, don’t forget to include a few hygiene items and essentials like a toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, socks, underwear, t-shirts, etc.  I have found great luck finding items at the Dollar Tree, Target’s Dollar Spot, Wal-Mart, CVS, etc.  There is no right or wrong way to pack a box, or certain amount of items to include.  This is YOUR special project.  Think about the age and gender of the child you are buying for and consider what they would like and what they might need for personal care.  Your contributions will make such a huge difference in the life of a child.   In fact, this weekend your child will be taking home a story of a young girl who desperately needed a pair of shoes and was miraculously blessed to find a pair in her Christmas box!  The amazing stories that could be told are limitless, but it’s a story worth reading.    Thank you for your participation in this awesome project.  I can’t wait to see how many shoeboxes we are able to send to children around the world!   Blessings, Suzie     Suzie McCord Children's Director 954-433-4838 x211

Hot Diggidy Dog!!!!!

Hot diggidy Dog!!!! My serious, quiet and mature oldest son, Jim Melton is the Hot Dog in this picture between all the condiments.

He teaches at Hollywood Central Elementary and they had their Fall festival tonight. This was his assignment. He loves working with kids this age, and that is the only thing that would ever cause him to do this. I'm proud of you Jim, even if you do look a little silly!!! I know what it means to look silly!! I have lots of experience!! No Amens!!

Jim also loves his nephews, I am sure Gavyn (6) and Caleb (3) would have loved to see their Uncle Jim in his Hot Diggidy Dog Costume!!!! 

KidsWorld joins "Christmas Child" Campaign

  Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ. Kids World will be collecting filled shoe boxes from Sunday, October 25th – Sunday, November 16th.

I hope all our parents will work with your children in participating in this far reaching Missions endeavor. On the KidsWorld site you will see how to be involved...even see a video on how to participate. 

I loved it last week when we got to watch our grandsons for a few days, to see Tonia take them out to shop and fill their own Samaritan's Purse Box to send overseas. They had such a heart to help children who aren't as blessed and might not even have a Christmas present. It was awesome!!!!

Alveda King Says Vote Yes on Amendment 2

 Alveda King, the niece of the Late Dr. Martin Luther King, says vote yes on Amendment 2. If anyone knows Civil Rights it is the King Family. Listen to this 30 second radio spot. It's worth the few seconds to listen. I hope you'll make sure you vote this week or next Tues.  When you do please vote on the most Important Vote we might ever cast in order to Save Marriage!!!!

Fall Vacation 08

 Our Fall Vacation comes to end on Sunday. Its been a good week. Lots of travel. After the 2 days with our Grandsons, we headed to Rigdecrest Conf . Center, in Asheville for a night, getting in at 3:30 a.m. , but loved being in Black Mtn. outside Asheville for a half day.

 Headed to Gatlinburg and spent the two nights and a day in my fav place in the world for vacation,( I live in paradise so this is just a reprieve. When you live in paradise, its good to get away and see how the more unfortunate  souls live in the deep south) . We had lunch at one of my fav restaurants in Gatlinburg, Calhoun's. We met up with some old friends, Cheryl Carr which was one of our original church council core members, and her mom, Betty Washer who is still a member of Oasis church and was the wife of one of our supporting pastors Jim Washer when we started Oasis Church in the Fall of 1991. It was good spending the day with them. (Jim passed away a few years ago)

Friday morn we got up and left before dawn to head to Pensacola, Fla. to celebrate Tonia's fathers 72 Birthday. Gil Gilmore and Yvonne retired to the Panhandle 3 years ago. It was good to have a family birthday, Friday night after arriving. Today we spent the day just hanging out. Eating at the premier Seafood Restaurant Joe Patti's and also spent some time with my Brother at his computer store in Pensacola.  

Tomorrow, Sunday we head back to Paradise. We had a great week. Lots of travel, but got to spend time with lots of loved ones. Not real good color this year. We hit the mtns. before the Peak of the leaves, but still saw some pretty good color.

The Most Important VOTE YOU'LL EVER CAST!!!!

Ok, Let me take a deep breath, swallow and just say it! IT matters! IT sums up our entire civilization and American culture. IT is what is the basic building block of any healthy civilization. IT is what was the very first institution and the longest running institution in the world. For thousands of years, IT has been the basis for each and every great civilization. IT is what weakened ultimately most great civilizations over these many centuries. Once IT was gone and weakened to no more than something mentioned and held onto by some on the extremes of the civilization from bygone eras, then all foundations of the civilization crumbled. IT has been attacked, maligned, ignored and even mocked since the most ancient times by some.

IT is nothing more than the very basic building block of all civilizations, other than life itself. IT is...  

MARRIAGE! But not just marriage...specifically the basic unit of ONE MAN, ONE WOMAN = 1 FAMILY! Now, papers have been filled with IT this election season. Radio and TV is heating up about IT. Volumes have already been written. But the bottom line is IT needs to be protected for our civilization to be saved. Yes, it is actually the final BATTLEGROUND FOR OUR GREAT COUNTRY. The culture of life has been lost, at least for my lifetime, and been substituted with the culture of death through the killing of millions of innocent babies. Now, will we let a few people decide they want to redefine thousands of years of marriage for their own good, to deal the final blow to our culture and civilizations? I hate politics and having to deal with it in the church. We don’t do it often. But when it’s a serious biblical issue, I’ll deal with it, since I have only one person to answer to; that is God himself. I will make some mad about this posting. Some might even write me off or even leave our church. Folks, you know our church loves to be positive. And I love to share here all the great things God is doing. But sometimes, we must be the Salt and Light Jesus said for us to be. I am having to do it at this moment. Please try to understand my heart. I believe this is literally a matter of life and death for our civilization and we have a chance to protect our future generations in the State of Florida by voting for IT! On this issue I must speak out!

Don’t listen to the radio and TV ads that will tell you in the next couple days all the LIES and yes, they are LIES from the chief liar himself. I believe he is the one behind this movement to KILL Marriage! All you will hear from the red/blue group, which is a disguise for a radical group of homosexual activists, is smear and scare tactics. I’ve never in my life seen such a distortion of an issue from one side. Don’t believe one thing they say when they say vote no on 2. It is simply not true.

We must VOTE YES ON AMENDMENT 2. It simply puts in our State Constitution once and for all that marriage is between a man and woman. Simply that. Do not believe all the smears and lies of the folks who will try to say it will discriminate and do all kinds of awful things. Vote for marriage. Vote yes, this November 4th for marriage the way God intended. Don’t let others try to call you names - homophobic, bigots - it’s simply not true. I love my homosexual friends and pray for them, just as I do anyone who I love who is living in sin - heterosexual or homosexual. This is not in any means saying I do not want God’s love to save every person. Our church will love anyone who comes through the door. Our 17 years of history says who we are. We are nothing more than a church who teaches the Bible and stands for truth, loves God and loves people - ALL people. If you vote early, whether you’re on the left, right or somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum, you can agree on one thing as followers of Christ: marriage is for one man and one woman! I Filled my Gas Tank Yesterday for $2.33 a Gallon!!!

  Ok, this is not a joke. I really did pay $2.33 a gallon last night. Check out the sign I took a picture of. I want to quiz you now.  Where is this station? Game Boys

The last couple days, Tonia and I have spent with our son Nathan and his two sons, our grandsons Gavyn (6), Caleb (3). Jenni, our daughter-in-law, has been in NY, at her Grandmother's funeral. She comes back today.

It is a great way for us to start our vacation. Spending time with the two best little guys in the world. They change so fast. This trip up to Indian Harbor Beach, we find them both totally into their game boys. How is a 3 year old earning 7 lives???? I don't get it. What happened to the Barrel of Monkeys, and Donkey Kong?
