Now That is REAL Worshipppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This past week I received a Connection Card from one of our 7NOW (7 Nights of Worship) services which read, "That was real worship!" The writer, who is a friend and very faithful member of Oasis Church, mentioned the Worship Leader of his night, and then put his opinion of what he thought of Worship. I had to chuckle to myself as I read it. What the writer of the Connection Card meant was, that was what style of Worship he liked. Well, little did I know that the very day I would Experience what I felt was REAL WORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm at camp and last night we experienced REAL WORSHIP!!!!! NOTHING LIKE OUR WEEKEND SERVICES OR 7NOW SERVICES. NOT EVEN LIKE OUR NORMAL THURSDAY NIGHT 7NOW WHEN OUR YOUTH LEAD IT.
It was Real Worship. These young people were jumping up and down, waving their arms back and forth, and just raising their hands to heaven. This went on for about 45 minutes. To experience 100 teenagers doing Real Worship to our God is something you can't explain, the pic's I'm posting don't even begin to tell the story. The music is too loud for adults, the roving lights all over the walls and ceilings with all types of shapes would have caused most adults to say I feel like I am in a Night Club!!! But let me tell you these kids experienced Genuine Worship!!!! As authentic as I have ever experienced, and I say yes, I experienced it too!!!!! This grandfather!!!!
I'm sure our Father from Heaven was weeping at the sight of his little children singing Worship to Him and experiencing His presence in their hearts and lives as they sang at the top of their lungs their adoration for Him and His Son. Folks, it saddens me that most adults never have Worshiped to this depth. We could learn something from our teens. But most of us would probably not be able to get past the lights, loud, and jumping!!!! Sad but it's reality. We all like different styles of Worship, I am so glad God has allowed me to like from the most traditional to the most Real which is what our Teens experienced last night!!!
OH, AND DID I FORGET TO MENTION SOMETHING LIKE 15-20 KIDS ACCEPTED CHRIST AS THEIR SAVIOUR and LORD AT THE END OF THE MESSAGE, AND OUR OWN TEENAGERS ARE THE ONES WHO PRAYED WITH THEM AND GAVE THEM COUNSEL AT THE END OF THE SERVICE?! BOY DID I WORSHIP!!! SHED SOME TEARS OF MY OWN.
awesome stuff. reminds me of my lake placid days in high school. i always experienced the greatest worship and God in an amazing way every summer at camp. it's so awesome to see the same thing happening to this generation!

Having been at camp this year and now back at Oasis I am still amazed to see how willing those kids were to get 'lost' in the Spirit of Worship. I truly felt they took that passage in Isaiah 6 and celebrated our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ with ALL they had that the "doorposts & thresholds of heaven shook!"
I pray we as adults take a lesson from the youth and worship our creator with such reckless abandon daily! He deserves no less...

All that I just read sounds wonderful!!!
I was a little down because I did not see the updates we were promised on our kids activities on the website. I have not spoken to mine since they left church. We at least wanted to know that they arrived safely. I figured at this point they were having too much fun to touch base with mom and dad. A week away from back to school and all, however, I have faith in God that he is pruning our son's heart and that he is being nurished daily with the Word of God and growing in his faith and walk with the Lord. The best part is he is sharing it with a friend that accompanied him that barely goes to church to worship the way we do!

I would really love to have occassions when we come to church just to sing and worship! I would like the music to be more of a variety. Some of the classic songs that brought my heart close to God would be cool too! Also, if we could meet maybe once a month as married couples and talk about topics to strengthen and get to know each other in the ministry aside from small groups, as a church would be awesome! Thanks.

I want to apologize for my earlier remarks. It was a generalization without relevant points. This really isn't the appropriate forum for such a broad sweeping comment. Please forgive me.

Thank you Oasis Church and all of those who served who heartedly during camp! All the things that my son have shared with me sound so marvelous, he said "the most amazing thing was the worship service Thursday night, he could feel a presence so strong, he made a decision to walk the walk," he came back the most serene I have ever seen him! He was able to really see changes in some of his friends! He seems as if his spirit was really washed with the spirit of God! He had realy angry moments before leaving and now he is so calm! Amen! Thank you for making it possible for him to attend! They did not want to come back home! He said a home fix and he would have been ready to go again!!! Unbelieveable, thank you for taking such good care of them! I look forward to going on a mission with my sons in the future! Love to all the brothers and sisters who served!
