Re-discovering Paradise

Hollywoodartsparkfountain The last several weeks I have begun to re-discover Downtown Hollywood and the Lakes Neighborhood I live in. For some reason, the last two years have been a blur after hurricanes, sabbatical Hollywoodyoungparkfromairetc. I have lost touch with my neighborhood and the beauty. Its been a long Hollywoodbridgetime since I have been able to walk outside, since it got dark so early. But the last several weeks, Ive been able get back outside . I have loved it. I have a phenomenal neighborhood. Just a few blocks from the Intra Coastal Waterway, not far from the beach.  Hollywoodbeachsunrise Hollywoodnorthlakewest_2

There are so many cool Historical Homes in my neighborhood, (most within a few blocks of my home, mine is not one!!!!) I just love to walk and check them out. The beach is an awesome place to walk , with the new remodel of the Boardwalk. Our new Arts Park is awesome  on the circle.

Hollywoodbeach_2 I love my downtown neighborhood. I love the beach. Not to swim just to walk and enjoy. Forgive me but I have to share some photos of our neighborhood.  Today just before dark, Tonia and I went bike riding around the lakes. I believe it was the first time we've been on the bikes since two years ago when I left on Sabbatical in May. It was awesome. I'm doing it more this summer.Hollywood_beach_2

If you live out west come on down and check us out at the beach and downtown. You'll fall in love with my neighborhood. That is how Tonia and I got here. We lived in Cooper City for 12 years. We would visit the beach and decided to just move here.  Now for those living in the Midwest, deep south and other less glamorous places, these pics are actually what I see everyday when I walk or ride my bike!!!!!! Ah!!! Paradise re-discovered.

Amazing pic of the circle!

Wow, from where did you take the shot of the circle?

After my day at the beach with the boys and coaching Gavyn surfing, I was thinking the exact same thing!

I was dwelling on how lucky Gavyn is to be growing up three blocks from the beach, going to cocoa beach to learn to surf, and to have a dad who could watch him, help him, and give him tips all day long with great joy!

I wish I could have started this young! Teaching him to surf is so nastalgic for me, I can remember the days at dania pier like they were yesterday.

see you in paradise in July if you're in town...until then, we are raising money for gas.....

security man...wonder who that is

Trust me security man, you have enough "gas" to get here and back 3 times without EVER stopping to fill your car up.

Guy,
I can say that I agree with you about how beautiful our city really is...the improvements to the circle have made it so much more of a pleasure to be down there. And it is also much safer than it was even 5 years ago...which is a plus for me because my kids are there everyday going to school!
Having the ocean only a small boat ride away for us is the highlight of what living in paradise is all about! We are truly blessed to afford to live here! Even though I would move to Savannah,GA in a NY minute, but resolve to living here till death us do part! :o)

With a Smile,
V

I will enjoy SoFlo a lot more when I am visiting as a resident of Seattle/anywhere else but here.
