RE:NoMi Update from the Weekend
I don't really know where to begin. This has been one of the most amazing weeks I have ever been a part of! I can't put into words all that has happened. All I can say is somewhere around 300 of our Church Family have been down to North Miami for the Biggest Project ever attempted by our church. It is to totally renovate the grounds, Auditorium, restrooms, and children's classes. We are well under way.
Alex Martija, one of our members, has done an incredible job of directing this project. I don't know how he has kept his cool, kind, and easy-going spirit while directing so many people coming and going in all directions. Pray for him, he has a long 4 days left. More folks are needed every day. Let me just list some of the things
accomplished so far.
- All old landscape and bushes pulled out.
- All inside decorations, and furnishings removed (pews given to a new church plant, along with organ) Carpeting removed.
- Bathrooms stripped and ready to be renovated.
- Painting of auditorium inside and outside is finished.
- Bathrooms mostly painted
- Stage enhancements being worked on
- Lighting and sound prep is on-going
- Outside awning is being put up
- Paver bricks soon to be installed in new walkways
- New sod prep is ready for sod to be laid
- Children's classes have two coats of paint, with trim being done.
- Nursery renovations on-going
- landscape will be put in late in the week
- Parking blacktop coating and stripping to be done later in week
- New chairs are in and ready to be set up when the Auditorium is ready
- Yard sale pieces have been organized, and 50 years of stuff accumulated in closets and rooms has been removed.
- And on and on, and on, and on and on..........
- There are still more needed and still help needed for the Block Party and Yard sale for the Community this Saturday 9-1 p.m.
I am going up there tonight. Hopefully someone will be there after 5:30. Anything I can bring specifically?
