The Only Perfect Season Ever
Nope!!! It is not the New England Patriots!!! Today marks the 35th Anniversary of the First and Only Perfect Season Ever in the NFL!! January 14, 1973!! The Miami Dolphins defeated the Washington Redskins 14-7 in the Super Bowl. I will never forget the day. I will also never forget the infamous pass that Kicker Garo Yepremium tried to throw which resulted in Washington's only Touchdown!!!! Garo was a little Greek kicker, who was a Tie Maker in Real life, he was 5'7" and weighed about 125 lbs. It was an unforgettable moment!!
35 Years and many teams later no Team has ever finished a season undefeated (17-0). It is an incredible Record. THE MOST AMAZING THING TO ME IS I HAVE ONLY HEARD ONE MENTION OF THIS ALL DAY ON ANY NEWS. (Fox News of all places) IT WASN'T ON THE DOLPHIN WEBSITE. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD AT LEAST MENTION THE ONLY GOOD THING TO HAPPEN TO THEM IN MANY YEARS.
Our local papers didn't have an article today. I checked both the Herald and the Sentinel!! That is unbelievable!! It's sad. These great men on this greatest team in history deserve better. Instead all we hear is all the no names coming in to interview for coach of this pathetic 1-15 team .
Yes, in a few short weeks New England might JOIN, not replace, the Dolphins as the only Perfect team. As bad as I hate to see them win it. It will always be with a BIG ASTERISK!!! THE N.F.L. FOUND THEM AND CONVICTED THEM AS CHEATERS, WHO WERE CAUGHT THIS YEAR, THEIR COACH GOT THE BIGGEST FINE EVER LEVELED. AND THEN HAS TO PUBLICLY APOLOGIZE. THERE WERE SUSPENSIONS AND FINES!!! So while the Pats may Join the Dolphins in the Perfect game summary, they will never join them in the CHARACTER AND CLASS in which they played and Won FAIRLY!!!

Thanks for talking about this I sure agree with you the 1973 Dolphins had class and that group still has class, we won't forget them no matter what happens this year. Sad how our town forgets great people.
